It hasn’t been all that long since the last one, but I’m back with another Cranky Flier Interview presented by Ontario International Airport. This time, I stayed in South America with an interview with Viva Air CEO Felix Antelo.

Viva might sound somewhat familiar. I interviewed then-CEO William Shaw back in 2017. At the time, it was known as VivaColombia and there was also VivaPeru. Those still exist, but the overarching brand is now unified as Viva Air.
The airline has grown less than I would have expected we’d see since 2017, but now coming out of the pandemic, it is getting aggressive again. The airline is flying to the US — Florida, of course — and has designs on more growth to more places.
