Kansas Aviation, one of the key sponsors of the SEK Celebration of Flight Fly-in, plans to open their facility for tours from 9am-1:30pm. The tours will be approximately 20 minutes in length and will provide an oversight of the steps taken to repair and overhaul engine accessories. They will also incorporate some of the History of Kansas Aviation and what services the company provides for customers around the world. Registration is not required but visitors will need to sign in at the door.
Sgt Dustin Stafford will represent the Independence Police Department. The Police Department will provide information applicable to the community and a squad car for inspection. There will also be a fully equipped MedFlight helicopter on site. The City of Independence will station a Fire/Rescue vehicle and ambulance at the Fly-In for public inspection and event safety.
There will be all kinds of aircraft flown in by pilots from a five-state area. There will be static displays of American Kodiak, Cessna, and other aircraft, and forums for pilots and the public to be held at Kansas Aviation. Crafts, pedal planes, tours, and lots of fun things to do for the whole family.
Army Reserve participation will be coordinated by 1SG Huggard. SGT Felipe will coordinate Army Recruiting participation.
Other key sponsors include Textron Industries/Cessna, American Kodiak, and Kelly Aerospace. Additional contributors to the event include The Car Shop and G & W Foods in Independence, Elite Aircraft Service in Bartlesville, and Kelly’s Pittsburg Painting in Pittsburg KS.
